TV Remote: Universal Controller

Terms of Service

The agreement that governs your use of the TV Remote: Universal Controller app.

Effective 17 September 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TV Remote: Universal Controller app, developed and published by Md. Tariqul Islam (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What the App does

TV Remote: Universal Controller lets you use your Android phone or tablet as a remote control for compatible televisions, streaming players, and infrared (IR)-controllable devices on your own local network or within IR range. It is a utility tool that sends control commands to devices you own or are authorized to operate.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

4. Device compatibility

The App works with a range of device brands and protocols, and infrared features require a device with a built-in IR blaster. We do not guarantee that the App will be compatible with, or fully functional on, every device, brand, model, firmware version, or network configuration. Compatibility may change when third-party devices are updated.

5. Third-party devices and trademarks

TV Remote: Universal Controller is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any device manufacturer. Brand and product names — including but not limited to Android TV, Google, Samsung, LG, webOS, Roku, Sony, BRAVIA, Panasonic, Philips, and Vizio — are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

6. No warranty

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will work with any particular device.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App (if any).

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled. In summary, the App does not collect personal data and stores its data locally on your device.

9. Updates and availability

We may update, modify, or discontinue the App (or any feature of it) at any time without notice. Updates may be required for continued use, and these Terms will apply to any updated version unless the update is accompanied by separate terms.

10. Termination

This licence remains in effect until terminated. It will end automatically if you fail to comply with these Terms. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the App.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” above and post the revised Terms at this URL. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. The courts of Bangladesh shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the App.
